SPORTMART was from the foundations of Ararat Sports & souvenirs and was laid in 1989 when husband and wife Ben Wong and Lucy Ong established the company in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The company began specializing in printing, designing and manufacturing as well as multi brand retailing in sport apparel, footwear and equipment. Since then, Ararat Sport & Souvenirs has grown and is acknowledge by the various agencies and corporate sectors.

ReplyDeleteYour statements are not true and not correct. Ben Wong and Lucy Wong DID NOT establish sportmart in 1989. Ben Wong is from West Malaysia, not a Sabahan. He had his own small business called Ararat. Nothing to do with Sportmart. Sportmart originated from Labuan and then expanded to Kota Kinabalu and opened in 1994 in Api-Api Center. They later opened more outlets in Wisma Yakim, Wisma Merdeka and other locations in Sabah. Ben Wong/Lucy Wong & Ararat PURCHASED the Sportmart business only in 2007 when the owner and his wife separated and they wanted to split their business as part of their legal settlement. Ararat purchased the rest of the Sportmart business only in 2019 in Labuan but did some hanky panky that led to a long drawn court case. Before you publish rubbish, check your facts la.
